Summer Session Information & Procedures at JK Gymnastics

Hello JK Families,

Our summer session starts next week! Get ready to tumble back into the gym! Please read carefully below as there is a lot of important information:

Enrollment in each session does not carry over. In order to secure your spot for another session, families must re-register their child online.  We still have some availability in select summer classes & camps! Registration and complete availability can be found online through the parent portal!

IMPORTANT DATES & MAKE-UP POLICIES

Summer Session: Our summer session will run the weeks of July 15th-August 22nd. This is a 6-week session.

  • We allow 2 make-up classes per child each session if you are unable to attend your regular class.

  • Make-ups must be scheduled in advance by emailing, calling, or speaking to the front desk.

  • Make-ups may only be scheduled during the current session and do not carry over to the next.

  • Refunds/credits will not be given due to a student's failure to attend class or camp.

SUMMER PROCEDURES

Arrival & Pickup Procedures:

  • Upon arrival, all families should park in the lot and walk their athlete into the lobby.  We ask that you arrive no sooner than 5 minutes before the start of class/camp.

  • A coach will be available in the lobby to help athletes store their belongings and get settled. Attendance will be taken at the start of class/camp to ensure everyone is in the correct group & location.

  • Our younger athletes, Worker Bees, Yellow Jackets, and Honeycomb 1 will meet in JK2. (The gym next to JK1, our original gym.) There are two stone columns outside of JK2's front entrance. This is also where camp for 4–6-year-olds will be held.

  • If your child needs assistance using the bathroom, we highly recommend you stay in the lobby during class and do not leave the building.

  • Worker Bees is our only class that permits one guardian to enter the gym as active participation is required.

  • When picking up your child, please, once again, park in the lot and walk to the lobby to collect your athlete.  JK staff members will be on hand to help all athletes connect with their families.

  • Parents/guardians may stay for the duration of the class in the lobby where they will be able to watch a live stream of the gym. Please no photography, however. We find this distracts the gymnasts from learning new skills & paying attention to instruction.

  • All summer camp attendees are required to pack a nut free lunch. We supply an allergy friendly snack.

Gym Safety Procedures:

  • Gymnasts should bring their own water bottle with their name on it and easily removable shoes. All gymnasts participate barefoot so please no stockings. Leggings are fine.

  • Please refrain from taking photos or videos of your child during class as well as standing in the doorway to the gym. We find this distracts the gymnasts from learning new skills & paying attention to instruction.

  • No jewelry, watches, or dangly earrings are to be worn in the gym. Hair must be pulled back. Leotards are not required, but many gymnasts prefer to wear them. Athletic attire is also fine to wear during class.

  • For the Worker Bees class- only one guardian is permitted in the gym with the participant. Siblings may stay in our connecting lobby during class but are not permitted to sit in the gym.

  • All summer camp attendees are required to pack a nut free lunch. We supply an allergy friendly snack.

If you have any questions, please let us know! JK’s office is closed until 7/15, but we will continue checking our emails daily.

Happy Handstands,

JK Staff
